91-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In Petaluma Mobile Home Fire

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- The body of a 91-year-old woman was found in a structure fire at a mobile home park in Petaluma Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Firefighters received multiple calls reporting a fire at the Leisure Lake Mobile Home Park located at 300 Stony Point Road at 3:09 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one mobile home unit fully involved in fire. Crews attacked the fire with water and were able to protect a neighboring home from the flames.

Firefighters entered the home to battle the flames from the inside and found the body of a 91-year-old woman in a rear bedroom, fire officials said.

The fire was brought under control at 3:38 p.m., fire officials said.

The mobile home was determined a total loss with estimated damage of the unit and contents at $50,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and it is unknown if the residence was furnished with working smoke detectors.
