SF Sexual Assault Victim Describes Her Attack On Social Media

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Less than a month after a serial rapist was sentenced to life in prison for three rapes in the Mission District, there has been a report of another sexual assault in the same neighborhood, San Francisco police said Thursday.

An account of the attack reposted on blogs and social media from an e-mail by a woman identifying herself as Amy recalls the attacks by Frederick Dozier who received a very long prison sentence last month.

SF Sexual Assault Victim Describes Her Attack On Social Media

The woman was walking home from a pot luck when she was attacked on 23rd Street near the corner of Guerrero at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, said Officer Albie Esparza, a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department.

"He made contact with her. She knew, or had a feeling, he was up to no good," he said.

The man, described as an Asian in his 20s or 30s, 5'8" and 160 lbs, punched the woman, wrestled her to the ground and attempted to rape her, according to police.

A neighbor who heard the woman screaming for help opened his window and shined a light onto the street. The attacker, fled on foot.

Esparza said the woman's decision to share her experience online would help the police catch the suspect.

"Now we have a whole community involved," he said.
