Cow Palace Gun Show Draws Record Crowd

DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- A gun show drew a record crowd over the weekend in Daly City.

Thousands waited in long lines to buy guns and accessories.

No one was able to walk away with a firearm from the show, due to California's rigorous background checks, and a 10-day waiting period.

Some lawmakers want to expand California's strict laws to cover the rest of the nation.

"We just think the rest of the country should have to have that same type of law," said Congressman Eric Swalwell on CBS 5 Sunday Morning.

Gun show holder Bob Templeton doesn't want to see those laws go beyond California's borders.

"It's cumbersome. I certainly wouldn't endorse it because it is a little bit more difficult to do business," said Templeton.
