Fatal Shooting Shuts Down Bay Fair BART Station In San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO (CBS/AP) -- The Bay Fair BART station has been completely reopened following a shooting that killed one person and injured another Saturday afternoon, according to a BART spokeswoman.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday all trains were stopping at the station, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.

One or more suspects shot and killed one victim in the Bay Fair station's bus loading zone around 12:20 p.m., and sent another victim to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Trost said.

BART police arrested one potential suspect in the shooting and are searching for three additional suspects.

The station was shut down at 12:50 p.m. Buses were being used to connect passengers to the San Leandro, Bay Fair and Hayward stations, but that service has now stopped, Trost said.
