Castroville Child Abuse Suspect Missing With 10-Month-Old Boy

MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- A Castroville man is missing with a 10-month old boy after a report of possible child abuse, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

Deputies were called to a residence in Castroville on Saturday on a report of possible child abuse, but could not locate either the suspect, Jesus Vargas Espinoza, 47, or 10-month-old Angelle Jenisis Negron, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

Sunday morning, investigators received information that Espinoza might be on his way to Mexico. As of 6 p.m., neither Espinoza nor the boy had been located.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call (831) 755-3772 or the tip line at (888) 833-4847.
