Mendocino Couple Arrested After Toddler Found Sick From Alcohol, Meth

UKIAH (CBS / AP) -- A Mendocino County couple has been arrested after the woman's toddler son was taken to a hospital under the influence of methamphetamine and lethal amounts of alcohol.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported that 22-year-old Samantha Delvalle and 21-year-old Raymond Maybery were booked on suspicion of child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and being intoxicated from drugs.

The Mendocino County Sheriff's office said Tuesday the boy's grandmother told investigators the toddler looked ill when she picked him up from his mother's home. So she took him to Ukiah Valley Medical Center where he was admitted.

Officials say Delvalle and Maybery were suspected of being drunk and high on drugs when deputies arrived at the boy's Philo home where they found open bottles of alcohol and drug paraphernalia within reach of a child.
