Furthur Bows Out of Bottle Rock Music Festival

NAPA VALLEY (CBS SF) - After collapsing on stage during a show at the Capitol Theatre in New York, Bob Weir and his band "Furthur" has announce they will not be able to perform at the upcoming BottleRock Napa Music Festival.

A statement on the band's website, furthur.net confirms, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Furthur regretfully will be unable to appear as scheduled at BottleRock Napa Valley on Thursday, May 9. Grateful Dead & Furthur Co-Founder Bob Weir, is unable to perform in any capacity for the next several weeks. Bob looks forward to resuming his "Weir Here" broadcasts from TRI Studios in mid to late June and performing his Solo acoustic shows June 26-30."

According to their Facebook Timeline, BottleRock founders are currently assessing options for the Thursday lineup and an announcement with more details will be issued shortly.

The first annual BottleRock Napa Valley Festival kicks off May 8 with a show by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, will run May 9-12th at the Napa Expo with a lineup featuring bands such as Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Furthur, The Shins, Jane's Addiction.
