Windsor Drive-By Shooting Suspect Arrested In Rohnert Park

WINDSOR (CBS SF) -- Deputies arrested a suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting in Windsor on Monday night, deputies said.

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Christopher Gornowicz, of Rohnert Park, in connection with the shooting.

Around 9:45 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 11000 block of Old Redwood Highway on a report of a shooting.

Deputies arrived at the home and spoke with the victims. The victims said they were at home at the time of the shooting and heard a vehicle slow down in front of the home. Someone inside the vehicle fired four gunshots and then sped southbound on Old Redwood Highway, deputies said.

The bullets did not strike the victims. All four bullets struck the victim's vehicle parked in the driveway, deputies said.

One of the victims reported seeing a black Honda Civic-type vehicle leaving the scene following the shooting.

Deputies were able to identify the suspect as Gornowicz, the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims.

Deputies located Gornowicz' vehicle on Tapadera Drive in Santa Rosa and arrested him in a nearby residence.

Two spent shell casings were found inside Gornowicz' vehicle on the front passenger seat and driver's floorboard, deputies said.

An assault-type rifle was also located in Gornowicz' residence, according to deputies.

Gornowicz was booked into Sonoma County Jail for shooting at an inhabited residence, police said.
