NOVATO (CBS SF) -- Novato police arrested two teenage boys after weapons were found in their car during a traffic stop on Monday night, a police sergeant said.
Police pulled the car over around 9 p.m. at 5 Bolling Drive in Novato, and found that there were two boys inside, ages 15 and 16, Sgt. Dan Jenner said.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded firearm inside the cab area, a billy club-type weapon and a knife, Jenner said.
Both boys had prior contact with police, and one is a suspected gang member, Jenner said.
The teens, both Novato residents, were arrested for possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon and violation of probation, Jenner said. They were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.
