San Mateo Police Release Images Of Suspected Child Molester

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) - San Mateo police released surveillance images Friday of a man who allegedly exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl and touched her inappropriately in a Barnes & Noble store in June.

The girl was reading with her family in the store at 11. W. Hillsdale Blvd. on June 23rd around 3 p.m. when she was approached by the suspect, police said.

The suspect led the girl to a more secluded area in another part of the store, exposed himself to her and touched her inappropriately.

Detectives are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect, who was captured on the store's surveillance cameras.

He is described as a white man in his 50s, around 6 feet tall with a heavyset build. He was bald or balding and wearing a fishing hat, sunglasses and tan cargo pants.

He was last seen getting into a dirty black or gray four-door car in the parking lot of the store between 3:30 and 5 p.m.

Anyone with information on this suspect or incident is asked to call (650) 522-7650 or (650) 522-7676 to make an anonymous tip.
