Teen Arrested In Connection With Crash That Killed Cyclist In Pleasanton

PLEASANTON (CBS SF) -- An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving two weeks after a fatal crash that killed a Dublin woman and left her husband injured, police said.

Pleasanton resident Cody Hall was arrested after turning himself into police Friday evening in connection with the June 9 crash that killed 58-year-old Deborah Hersevoort, according to police.

Police said Hersevoort and her husband were riding their bicycles north on Foothill Road south of Golden Eagle Way just after 1 p.m. when Hall, who was driving in the same direction, crashed into the couple.

The Dublin woman was thrown from her bicycle, and emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her husband was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

Hall was booked into Santa Rita Jail Friday evening and was later released on bail.
