Suspect Arrested For Brutal Beating On SJSU Campus

SAN JOSE (KCBS) - A suspect was arrested in connection with a brutal assault at San Jose State University, campus police said Thursday.

Authorities had not yet released the name or any information about the suspect, who apparently knew the 22-year-old man who was attacked.

Police said the two were apparently walking together with a larger group of people on campus Tuesday night when the attack occurred. The victim's head was repeatedly bashed into the sidewalk. He remained hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was not a student at the university.

Investigators said this attack was not related to another one two weeks before, when a man was pistol whipped by three women who stole his laptop.
