Carmel Valley Woman Arrested For Shipping Meth To Wyoming

MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- A woman was arrested at her Carmel Valley home by Special Agents from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the Monterey County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday afternoon for conspiring to ship methamphetamine to individuals in the state of Wyoming, deputies said.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, law enforcement officials arrested 35-year-old Amy Antuzzi at her home in the unit block of Paso Cresta in Carmel Valley, after illegal drugs were found during a search of her residence, according to deputies.

The arrest was a culmination of a two-month long investigation that led authorities to believe that Antuzzi was shipping methamphetamine to individuals in Wyoming via a private shipping company, deputies said.

The Special Enforcement Detail of the Monterey County Sheriff's Office began a joint narcotics investigation with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation in July.

A search of Antuzzi's residence on Tuesday found her to be in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and concentrated cannabis. She was also found to be growing marijuana, deputies said.

Antuzzi, who also works as a restaurant server, was taken into custody following the search of her home without incident.

She was lodged in the Monterey County Jail to await extradition to the State of Wyoming, according to deputies.
