Nancy Pelosi Says She Doesn't Want To Be House Speaker

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) -- House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi (D-S.F.) says she doesn't wish to be Speaker again.

In an interview published in the National Journal, the 73-year-old Pelosi was asked whether she wishes to return to the top job. Pelosi said she did not, pointing out that she has held the post.

A spokesman for Pelosi said Friday that she's working hard to win back the majority for Democrats and that her colleagues would determine who the Speaker would be.

The first female to hold the post, Pelosi took over in January 2007 after Democrats captured the majority. She lost the position to current Speaker John Boehner in 2011 when Republicans posted decisive wins in the November 2010 midterm elections and grabbed the majority.
