San Jose Police Say Man's Body Found in Parked RV Is 'Suspicious'

SAN JOSE (KCBS) — San Jose police said that an elderly man's body was found inside a parked RV in Downtown San Jose early Monday morning, and that the death was suspicious.

San Jose police spokesman Albert Morales said that officers found the body in an RV parked near the corner of Julian and 4th Street—close to San Jose State University—at about 3:40 a.m. after a 911 call was made.

"When officers arrived they did in fact locate an elderly male inside an RV," he said. "They called fire and paramedics. They arrived on scene and pronounced the male deceased."

Morales said the man was in 70s and the coroner is calling the death suspicious. He said that term could mean any number of things, including the possibility of a homicide.

The RV was parked near Tico's Tacos restaurant where a man was shot to death by a pair of gunmen on Aug. 24.

There have been 37 homicides this year in San Jose and the city is on pace to pass last year's total of 46—which was noted for being the highest of the previous two decades.
