(CBS SF) - The official preview trailer for writer/director Michael Polish's film "Big Sur," based on the Jack Kerouac book of the same name. The film stars Jean-Marc Barr as the fictional alter-ego Jack Duluoz, Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush), Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama), Radha Mitchell (Olympus Has Fallen) and Anthony Edwards (Top Gun).

"Big Sur," an adaptation of American literary icon Jack Kerouac's novel, focuses on a moment in Kerouac's life when, overwhelmed by the success of his opus "On the Road" and struggling to battle inner demons, he seeks respite in three brief sojourns to a cabin in the small, coastal California town of Big Sur.
Director and newlywed, Michael Polish's film is at once a poetic meditation and a love-letter to the work of an author who defined the Beat Generation.

The preview showcases many Bay Area locales such as Tosca Cafe, City Lights Books, a former hangout of Kerouac and the Beat Generation and of course, the Northern California coast. Early in the year, "Big Sur" was one of many Northern California films featured at the
Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
