Lottery Opening Up For Chance To Buy SF Condos Under $250K

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Qualifying first-time home buyers looking to crack the San Francisco housing market are being encouraged to enter a lottery for below market rate condominiums in the Hays Valley neighborhood.

Prices on the 24 unit building range from just over $200,000 to nearly $224,000. Applications are due by Friday, and applicants must submit a first-time homebuyer certificate.

Individuals who apply cannot earn more than $56,700 per-year. Two-person households can't earn more than $64,750.

Condos at 1600 Market St. are around 800 square feet and include a roof deck and bike parking. There is no car parking in the building.

Move-ins may begin as soon as November.

Visit the apartment website for additional application information.
