Drugs, Cash And Guns Recovered In Raid On Vallejo Home

VALLEJO (CBS SF) - Drugs, cash and an assault weapon were seized and two men were arrested at a home in Vallejo on Monday by the Solano County Sheriff's Enforcement Team.

At about 5 p.m. that day, the team learned that a wanted suspect was at a home in the 500 block of Fifth Street.

The team—composed of members of the Solano County Sheriff's Office, the Fairfield Police Department, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the U.S. Marshals Office—established a perimeter around the residence.

The wanted fugitive, Andrew Mitchell, 30, of Vallejo, was found inside the home and arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating the terms of his post-release community supervision, sheriff's deputies said.

Another Vallejo resident on probation, 50-year-old Eric Perry, was also inside the residence, deputies said.

A probation search of Perry's person and bedroom revealed a half-gram of heroin, 47.5 grams of marijuana, over $1,900 in cash, and a loaded .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, deputies said.

The handgun was later found to have been reported stolen out of Fairfield, according to deputies.

The sheriff's enforcement team obtained a warrant to search the rest of the residence, and located an assault weapon with a high-capacity magazine in another bedroom.

The firearm, money and drugs were retained as evidence, deputies said.

Mitchell and Perry were both booked into Solano County Jail and are being held without bail.

Mitchell was booked for an the felony warrant, and Perry was booked for felony possession of heroin, felony possession of stolen property, probation violation, possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, possession of live ammunition by an ex-felon, and for being armed in the commission of a felony, according to the sheriff's office.
