Crews Douse Restaurant Fire In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco firefighters put out a one-alarm fire at a popular restaurant in the Tenderloin district Saturday morning.

Fire personnel in the area of Post and Larkin streets around 9 a.m. noticed smoke from a nearby building, leading them to Little Henry's restaurant at 955 Larkin St., according to fire officials.

The firefighters quickly called for backup after finding flames inside the business, fire officials said.

Crews were able to contain the blaze to the restaurant's kitchen and got the fire under control by 9:23 a.m., fire Lt. Robert Lopez said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire has prompted Little Henry's to close at least for the rest of the day, a restaurant employee said.

She said she did not yet know whether damage from the fire would keep the eatery from opening in time for its annual Thanksgiving meal.
