DIABLO (KCBS) — A car struck and damaged a building housing a post office in the Diablo area of Contra Costa County Wednesday morning and then fled the scene.

California Highway Patrol officials told KCBS that a blue-colored BMW slammed into the building in the 1700 block of Clubhouse Road about 7:30 a.m.

A CHP spokesman told KCBS that some of the water and electric lines in the building were damaged as well as some of its steel structure.

There are no reports of any injuries and post office remains open.

Authorities say wreckage from the crash was found near the scene.
