SALINAS (CBS SF) — A homeless man was found dead at a bus stop in Salinas on Fridayafternoon, police said.

The 42-year-old man was found sitting at the bus stop in front of the AERO gas station at 1240 N. Main St. in Salinas at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, police said.

He was found bent over with his head between his knees and his hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head, according to police.

The coroner estimated the man had been dead for 4 to 12 hours before he was discovered, police said.

The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family. The cause of death has not yet been released, according to police.
