Statewide Amber Alert Issued For Abducted Teen Possibly En Route To Mexico

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) - The California Highway Patrol activated a statewide Amber Alert on Thursday after the suspected abduction of a 14-year-old girl in Washington State.

The suspect and girl may be traveling through the Bay Area on their way to Mexico.

14-year-old Elizabeth Romero was abducted Wednesday afternoon from the city of Kennewick, about 220 miles southeast of Seattle.

Authorities describe the teen as a Hispanic girl, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white talk top, dark pants, a backpack and a pink purse.

Eduardo Flores-Rosalas is suspected in Romero's disappearance. Police said he is a 19-year-old Hispanic man, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect was last seen driving a 2000's green Ford Escape SUV, with a temporary Washington State registration.
