OAKLAND (CBS/AP) — Police in Oakland were investigating who’s behind flyers depicting a swastika on a Jewish councilwoman’s forehead.
The flyers were plastered throughout Councilwoman Libby Schaaf’s Montclair district this weekend. The posters read “Stop Schaaf. Stop the DAC,” referring to the city’s plan to build a one-stop surveillance center for police and firefighters.READ MORE: Lawsuit Alleges Low-Income Homeowners Were Manipulated Into Getting PACE Green-Energy Loans

Schaaf told the newspaper that as a person of Jewish heritage, she found the flyers particularly hurtful.
She said she was surprised she was being targeted because she has expressed concerns about the center and supported initiatives aimed at preventing privacy abuses.MORE NEWS: UPDATE: 2 Dead, 7 Injured, 1 Arrest In Suspected DUI Crash In Pittsburg
