Elderly Man Hit, Critically Injured By Car After Exiting Muni Bus

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A 73-year-old man was critically injured when he was hit by a car after getting off of a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in the city's Bayview District on Saturday evening, police said Monday.

The collision was reported at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday on Hudson Avenue near Reuel Court, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The car that struck the victim was a Dodge caravan driven by a 33-year-old woman, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with broken legs and a head wound—injuries that are considered life-threatening, according to police.

The driver stayed at the scene, Esparza said. The collision remains under investigation.
