Teenager Dies In Snowboarding Accident At Heavenly Resort At Lake Tahoe

MINDEN (CBS/AP) -- A California teenager has died in a snowboarding accident at Heavenly Resort at Lake Tahoe.

The Douglas County sheriff's office says 18-year-old Wyatt James Colvard of Fountain Valley was found unconscious in the snow shortly before noon Tuesday.

Officials say ski patrol took Wyatt down the mountain where paramedics were waiting. Rescuers attempted advanced life support but Wyatt died of his injures at the scene.

The sheriff's office says preliminary autopsy results show he died of internal injuries from blunt force trauma.
