Man Sought After Hitting SF Muni Passenger In Head With Kerosene Container

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police are trying to identify a man who hit another person in the head with a kerosene container on a San Francisco Municipal Railway light-rail vehicle in the city's Bayview District on Friday afternoon, police said.

The male victim had just gotten onto the T-Third train around 4:30 p.m. when a man in his 50s stuck his foot out and tripped the victim, police said.

The suspect had the kerosene can and repeatedly hit the victim on the back of the head with it, according to police. The suspect then ran off the bus and remained at large this morning.

The train was on Third Street near Kirkwood Avenue when the attack occurred, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital with minor cuts to the back of his head, police said.
