East Bay Middle-Schooler Accused Of Blackmailing Girl For Sex Acts After 'Sexting' Photos

BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- A Brentwood middle-school boy allegedly blackmailed a girl to perform sex acts after receiving sexually-explicit photos of her on his cellphone, according to police.

The middle-school aged boy could be facing criminal charges after the alleged incident, and students at four other middle schools were under investigation for exchanging inappropriate images, police said.

Police were called to Adams Middle School in Brentwood to investigate a report that students were exchanging sexually explicit images of themselves.

An investigation found that several students between the ages of 12 and 14 from three Brentwood schools, and one Byron school had used cellphones to send and receive the pictures, including Adams Middle, Bristow Middle, Edna Hill Middle schools in Brentwood, and Excelsior Middle school in Byron.

One of the boys allegedly used an incriminating image of a girl to force her to perform sexual acts.

"I am saddened to hear the serious nature of what has happened," said Heather Partida of the Brentwood Union School District.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office has been working with Brentwood police to determine if charges will be filed.
