Husband Named 'Person Of Interest' In Death Of Castro Valley Woman

CASTRO VALLEY (CBS SF) -- Police were attempting to locate a man suspected of fatally shooting his wife in their Castro Valley home on Friday, a sheriff's spokeswoman said Saturday.

The woman, who was found dead in her home in the 19000 block of Stanton Avenue around 4 p.m. Friday, has been identified as 45-year-old Yunyi Zhang, according to Alameda County Sheriff's Office Deputy April Luckett.

Sheriff's investigators have named 46-year-old Mi Feng, Zhang's husband, as the person of interest in the case and believe he may be on the run, Luckett said.

The couple has a 14-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old daughter who are safe, according to Luckett.

Feng may be driving the family's car, a silver 2013 Toyota Rav-4. The car's license plates were found detached inside the house and may be replaced with paper plates from Dublin Toyota, Luckett said.

The sheriff's office has reportedly responded several times to domestic violence incidents involving Feng and the victim at their Castro Valley home.

Luckett said there are two guns registered in Feng's name. One of the firearms was found inside the family's home while the other is outstanding.

Feng is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Feng is asked to keep their distance and call the police.
