Raiders Sign Former 49ers CB Carlos Rogers

ALAMEDA (AP) -- The Oakland Raiders have signed free-agent cornerback Carlos Rogers to a one-year contract.

The team announced the move on Monday to bring Rogers over from across the bay in San Francisco.

Rogers will team with another former 49ers cornerback in Oakland's secondary. The Raiders previously signed Tarell Brown to a one-year deal.

The Niners cut Rogers earlier this month in a cost-saving move.

The 32-year-old Rogers gives the Raiders an experienced slot cornerback to team with Brown and last year's first-round pick D.J. Hayden.

Rogers has started 116 games over nine seasons with Washington and San Francisco. He has 17 career interceptions and 109 passes defensed.
