SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in San Francisco on Friday morning near the Stockton Tunnel, police said.

Police told KCBS the collision happened just after 6 a.m. at Stockton and California Streets.
Witness reports indicate the driver failed to stop at the red light.

The driver stopped and remained at the scene.

The victim suffered upper body injuries and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

The collision briefly shutdown southbound lanes of the Stockton Tunnel and prompted Muni to re-rout the 30 and 45 buses through the affected area.
