CONCORD (RADIO.COM) – Aerosmith and Slash have announced the dates of their “Let Rock Rule” tour.

The North American trek kicks off on July 10 in Long Island, N.Y., and stretches through mid-September where it will close out on Sept. 12 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, according to Aerosmith’s website.

Things seem to be going well for Aerosmith, who announced the tour via a show at Los Angeles’s Whiskey-A-Go-Go. Guitarist Brad Whitford was absent from the stage, with no explanation given for this. But longtime touring keyboardist Russ Irwin contributed some acoustic guitar during their set, and while having Slash fill in for Whitford would have been a nice touch, he did join them for their last two songs: “Mama Kin” and “Train Kept A’Rollin’.” Slash’s former band, Guns N Roses, covered “Mama Kin” their debut EP 1986′s Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide (later reissued on 1988′s G N’ R Lies), and in a nod to Guns, they ended the song with an impromptu bit of “Welcome To The Jungle.”

The set list: “Draw The Line,” “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Pink,” “Walk This Way,” “Mama Kin” (with Slash), “Train Kept A’ Rollin’” (with Slash).
