Woman With Kids Arrested In Concord After Alleged Drunken Disturbance On BART

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A woman riding Bay Area Rapid Transit with her two young children was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment in Concord on Tuesday night after a fellow passenger reported that she was drunk and causing a disturbance, a BART police lieutenant said.

Officers responded to the call around 8:45 p.m. and intercepted a Pittsburg-bound train at the Concord BART station, according to BART police Lt. Mike Hayes.

The woman and her two children, aged two and three, were escorted off of the train. She was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and taken to county jail in Martinez, Hayes said.

The woman, whose name is not being released, has prior child endangerment arrests on her record.

Her two children were turned over to a relative on Tuesday night, Hayes said.
