Santa Rosa Teen Girl Missing; Last Seen At Her Home

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A 17-year-old girl has been missing from home since Friday, Santa Rosa police said Monday.

Elysa Muniz, a student at Analy High School in Sebastopol, was last seen in her home in the 1700 block of Fenwick Drive in west Santa Rosa around 8 p.m. Friday, police Sgt. Terry Anderson said.

Muniz communicated with a friend by text around midnight that night and her parents discovered her missing at 9 a.m. Saturday, Anderson said.

The family tried to find out where she went and reported her missing at 2 p.m. Sunday, Anderson said.

Muniz's cellphone, wallet with identification and money were left at home. She does not have access to a vehicle and is believed to be on foot, Anderson said.

Muniz is Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. She has dark, straight hair past her shoulders that is wavy and curly when not straightened, Anderson said.

Anyone with information about Muniz's whereabouts is asked to call (707) 975-1106.
