VALLEJO (CBS SF) — People walking along a Vallejo neighborhood street Thursday were stumped by the source of what sounded like cries from a baby – until firefighters arrived and determined it was some kind of critter stuck in a storm drain.

After investigating further, firefighters determined a raccoon was stuck under the street at the intersection of Brunswick and Georgia streets.

The raccoon was handed off to Suisun Wildlife rescue center for further evaluation, Tweedy said.
