OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Media reports surfaced earlier this week that Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love has no plans to sign a new contract and would rather move on to a contender like the Golden State Warriors. It appears the interest is mutual.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that team officials signaled interest in the league’s number four scorer after the press conference introducing new coach Steve Kerr Wednesday.

Rumors have swirled this week that a potential deal would involve the ‘Dubs’ packaging David Lee with future draft picks and potentially swingman Harrison Barnes. The Chronicle has reported that the team does not plan to include shooting guard Klay Thompson. If the interest is genuine, the Warriors are expected to be competing against Chicago, Boston, Houston, Phoenix and the Knicks to put the most attractive package together to land the 25-year-old.
