Story Of Depressed Goat, His Donkey Friend Goes Viral

VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- The story of a depressed goat and his best friend Jellybean the donkey are taking the internet by storm.

More than a million people have viewed the YouTube video of the two animals that were rescued from a hoarder in Southern California.

The goat went on what's described as a hunger strike until he was finally reunited with his friend.

"Animal control said he was raised with a burro and they were best friends. And when they were separated, the burro really brayed and cried a lot, and we said oh my God,maybe he's suffering from depression at the loss of his friend,"  Jan Galeazzi of the Animal Place said.

The pair ended up on a farm in Vacaville, where they're able to frolic in the sun together.

"He was suddenly up, lively.  You could see his nostrils flaring, his eyes lighting up when she's being unloaded, wagging his tail, he's excited," Galeazzi said.
