New Poll: Most Bay Area Residents Happy With Economy And Region's Direction
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— We appear to be upbeat about the economy here in the Bay Area. According to a new poll, almost 60 percent of Bay Area residents believe the region is headed in the right direction.
The Bay Area Council, a business-backed public policy advocacy organization released the results Tuesday. People who took part in the poll said the economy is better today than it was six months ago, and half of them say it will be even better six months from now.

However, not everyone is happy. 26 percent of San Franciscans polled believe that the City by the Bay is headed in the wrong direction.
"That may be the result of a lot of conversation that is happening in the city about housing prices and gentrification and other pressures on a fast growing city," said Jim Wunderman with the Bay Area Council.
Santa Clara and San Mateo County residents appear to be the happiest, and according to the poll, residents, overall, believe the cost of living, cost of housing, crime, traffic, and homelessness appear to be the most serious issues facing the region.
