Despite Available Scratchers, Top Prizes Gone From Some California Games

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- Just because a scratcher is available doesn't mean the top prize is still available.

Black $10 scratchers are flying off the rack in California after a woman scratched her way to a million dollar prize earlier this week.

But most gamblers don't realize that the top prizes may already have been claimed.

The top prizes for $2 'Lucky For Life' scratchers are all gone.

"It's very infrequent that there would be zero, but there could be a few retail locations that the tickets haven't been cleared from the shelf yet," Alex Traverso of the California Lottery said.
