Malia Obama Favors UC Berkeley Over Stanford After College Campus Tour

(CBS SF) -- President Obama's oldest daughter, Malia, has been checking out colleges in the Bay Area.

Malia toured Stanford University and UC Berkeley with friends last weekend while President Obama was delivering a commencement address to UC Irvine graduates.

The 15-year-old has some time to decide. Meanwhile, she has a summer job in L.A. working as a production assistant on the Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi TV series 'Extant' starring Halle Berry.

A source told KPIX 5's Phil Matier "she made it clear Berkeley compared very favorably with Stanford."

Another president's daughter, Chelsea Clinton, attended Stanford and graduated in 2001 with highest honors and a B.A. in History.
