Public's Help Needed To Return Marmot Loose In San Francisco To Its Sierra Home

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco's Wildlife Emergency Services is asking for the public's help in finding a marmot running around underneath homes near the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood.

WES received a report that the furry critter was residing under a deck at a home near 25th Street and Rhode Island Street, according to CEO Rebecca Dmytryk.

The agency needs the public's help in determining where the marmot came from, and want to speak with anyone in the area who may have visited high elevation areas like the Sierra in the last few weeks.

Once the marmot is captured, the agency will try to return it to its home.
