San Bruno Apartment Fire That Left Woman Injured May Have Been Sparked By Narcotics Manufacturing
SAN BRUNO (CBS SF) -- An apartment fire that left a woman with burn injuries Monday morning may have been sparked by a narcotics manufacturing lab inside the apartment, police said.
At about 10:05 a.m. the San Bruno Police Department received a report of an apartment fire in the 400 block of Linden Avenue near El Camino Real.
Firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene to find the resident of the apartment, identified only as a 51-year-old woman, suffering from burn injuries.
The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.
The fire impacted only one unit in the apartment complex. No other injuries were reported, police said.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the fire may have been caused by the illegal manufacture of narcotics within the apartment, according to police.
During a subsequent search of the apartment, investigators found suspected hashish oil and marijuana, along with other materials and paraphernalia, police said.
The San Bruno Police Department, in cooperation with the San Bruno Fire Department and the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force, are continuing to investigate the cause of the blaze.
