Ohio Man's Potato Salad Kickstarter Campaign Grows Over $50,000
COLUMBUS, OHIO (CBS SF) - As a harmless joke, Zack "Danger" Brown, of Columbus, Ohio decided to seek out a crowdfunding venture of making potato salad for the first time. His goal was to make $10 through Kickstarter.com, a popular crowdfunding website. But instead, earned well above $50,000.
On his Kickstarter page, Brown described what he was doing "I'm making potato salad. Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet."
Within a week, Brown received over 3,400 worldwide backers. He ended up making over $37,000. Currently, Brown has over 3,900 backers and over $50,000 pledged.
The 31-year old software company co-owner told The Columbus Dispatch he did it for the "pure enjoyment and silliness of life." Now he plans on throwing a huge public party with the money.
