Running Water Restored To Pleasanton Apartment Complex After 5 Days

PLEASANTON (KPIX 5) -- Residents of the Springhouse apartment complex in Pleasanton were excited Tuesday after water service restored after a five day absence.

The complex had no water service since Friday, following a water main break.

During the outage, residents used porta potties that were placed in the complex's parking lot. Some even shuttled water back-and-forth from the pool to flush their toilets.

"I went to work this morning without taking a shower. It's gross. It's not ok," Springhouse resident Rachael Perez told KPIX 5 on Monday.

Residents complained that they received vouchers to stay at hotels during the outage, but could not check into hotels because they were booked.

The owner of the complex said no one will be charged for the five days the water was turned off.
