Repairs On Blown San Francisco Water Line To Last Overnight

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Repairs on a blown service line in San Francisco's Outer Sunset neighborhood was expected to last through the night, a San Francisco Public Utilities Commission spokesman said.

A blown service line connected to the main line was reported at 3:47 p.m. at 46th Avenue and Moraga Street, SFPUC spokesman Tyrone Jue said.

One home's water service is affected, he said.

Jue said crews are expected to repair the line before midnight.

San Francisco Municipal Railway bus service is affected in the area, Jue said.

According to Muni officials, buses on the 18-46th Avenue line are rerouting around the incident and not stopping at Moraga Street.

Crews also responded to a water main break reported at 3:55 p.m. at Seventh Street and Mission Bay Drive in the city's Mission Bay neighborhood.

A third-party contractor hit the line at the Mission Bay site and no property was damaged, Jue said.

Repairs were completed around 5 p.m., he said.
