Crowdfunding Effort Dries Up For San Jose Airport Stowaway

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - An effort to purchase a ticket on behalf of the San Francisco woman with a history of trying to sneak on board flights has apparently lost support.

In February, a GoFundMe campaign was kicked off to legally buy Marilyn Jean Hartman a ticket to Hawaii after she made at least three attempts to get on a plane leaving San Francisco International. Since then 50 people chipped in, partially because it was reported at the time that Hartman said she had cancer and simply wanted to go somewhere warm. But only $20 has been donated over the last two months, and that came in the form of a single donation Thursday morning.

Online postings have since called into question her health status, with some claiming she does not have cancer and others stating that she is in remission.

Fresh headlines about Hartman, 64, resurfaced Tuesday when she illegally boarded a flight from San Jose Airport to Los Angeles. Hartman pleaded no contest to the crime Wednesday, and told reporters she was making a point about security during a rambling press encounter. Here's the full clip:

Hartman said Wednesday she just has a few dollars to her name and is now stuck in Los Angeles and can't do much more than pray.
