WOODSIDE (CBS SF) — San Mateo County deputies are investigating a mountain lion sighting that occurred Sunday morning in Woodside.

The animal sighting was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the Wunderlich County Park area.

The sheriff’s office advises residents not to approach mountain lions, especially those that are with offspring, or are feeding.

In general, mountain lions will try to avoid confrontation, the sheriff’s office reports.
