Los Gatos Nudist Resort Forced To Truck Water In After Drought Dries Up Sources On Property

LOS GATOS (CBS SF) -- A nudist resort in Los Gatos is trucking water in after the state's drought dried up their main sources.

After the resort's main water sources, including nearby Henry's Creek, two wells, and a spring all ran bone dry, the Lupin Lodge has been forced to truck in water, 3,800 gallons at a time.

"The water on all our water sources are low, and getting lower," Lodge CEO Lori Kay Stout said.

The resort has cut back their water use significantly, but the water being trucked in doesn't keep the forest around the resort from drying up. Five trees fell on the property recently, with one blocking the entire road.

"It's a big danger for people and buildings and vehicles," Stout said.

Residents at the lodge fear the drought could change their way of life.

"I don't fear that we are going under. I fear we can't do all that we like to do here because of the water restrictions," resident Cindy Gregory said.
