Drones Spot Millennium Falcon & X-Wing Fighter West of London

GREENHAM COMMON, UNITED KINGDOM (CBS SF) – Recently, actor Mark Hamill has been seen in Great Britain with a beard that closely resembles that of his old Jedi mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi. Feeding fuel to the excitement of the upcoming release of Star Wars: Episode VII. Many fans are eagerly awaiting more tidbits to be revealed on what elements could possibly appear in the next film.

Simulations engineer Matthew Myatt of the Airbourne Aviation Flying Club was flying his drone above Greenham Common, a former Royal Air Force airbase, located one hour west of London. When his camera captured what appeared to be a semi-completed Millennium Falcon, Han Solo and Chewbacca's famous spacecraft. Just yards away, appeared to be an X-Wing Fighter, covered up in blue tarp.

"I didn't know it was there, and we flew down and did some orbits. It was based around the old cruise missile silo," Myatt told the BBC. "It wasn't until I got back last night and started going through the images that it just jumped out at me."

Myatt's son confirmed that it was indeed Han Solo's famous ship, "the one that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs."

Another photo was tweeted out by Justin Reeves that shows a wider shot of the former RAF Airbase with a tarp covered Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighters.

The Huffington Post reports a Episode VII news site speculates the RAF Airbase could be a setting for Dantooine, a planet in the Star Wars universe, mentioned by Princess Leia in Episode IV: A New Hope.

San Francisco-based Lucasfilm continues to film the seventh film of the epic saga in Great Britain. "Star Wars: Episode VII" is set to release in theaters December 18, 2015.
