United Way To Begin Accepting Bitcoin Donations

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - One of the world's largest charities says it will begin accepting donations in the virtual currency Bitcoin.

United Way says it will collect Bitcoin donations for its innovation fund through the San Francisco-based wallet service Coinbase.

It will not charge transaction fees for any donation.

United Way CEO says they are making the change because the agency wants to make it easier for donors to support causes they care about.
