“We have made the difficult decision to cancel the event due to a number of circumstances, including changes that we were required to make with our agreement with the 49ers, and the development of their new 4.9K Stadium Run and Obstacle Challenge,” reads an email from the event’s operations department.READ MORE: Woman's Body Dumped At San Jose Newby Landfill; Police Seek Public's Help In Case

On Yelp, runners said they had already begun sending in request for refunds after rumors that the planned finish on the field at Levi’s had been moved to the parking lot. The email did not provide specifics on what issues forced the cancellation.
“There are numerous factors that would make it difficult for us to provide the unique experience that you would expect from us on race day,” read the email. “We apologize for this inconvenience and we’ll begin sending refunds to all participants right away. Please allow up to 6 – 8 weeks for us to process and mail out all refund payments.”MORE NEWS: Federal Unemployment Benefits Ending Early In Many States
